Juicy Turkey Brined & Smoked
Ingredients
- Whole Turkey
Brine
- 1 cup Salt
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/2 full Hot Water in Pitcher
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon Full Peppered Corns
- 1 teaspoon Basil
- 1 teaspoon Your Favorite Turkey Seasoning
- Bacon Grease
- Butter
Directions
Step 1
Make sure turkey is in a sealable bag or container
Step 2
Mix salt, sugar, brown sugar, cajun seasoning, peppered corn, basil, and chicken seasoning in pitcher full of hot water
Step 3
Mix mixture until until sugar is fully dissolved and dump in the bag/container with the turkey
Step 4
Fill with water until turkey is covered, make sure turkey breast is face down
Step 5
Dump some ice into the bag as well to cool water
Step 6
Let turkey sit overnight
Step 7
Rinse turkey
Step 8
Pull out turkey and fill cavity with cut green apples and celery
Step 9
Rub all outside of the turkey with butter and bacon grease and inject the turkey with remaining butter and bacon grease
Step 10
Put directly on the smoker for 4-5 hours at 275F
